The Physical Fitness Instructor (PFI) course is designed for learners who wish to conduct fitness trainings in the group settings. It covers the topics related to Human Anatomy, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Safety for Exercises, Principle of Training. In addition to the theoretical studies, Physical Fitness Instructor (PFI) is also integrated with the learning of practical skills for common exercises conducted in group workout sessions.

Course Goals

  • Understand the roles of a fitness instructor in a group setting
  • Prepare and implement exercise programming for the separate elements of a group fitness class
  • Apply the principles of exercise science, human anatomy, and biomechanics to movement design and exercise instruction
  • Identify the principles and methods of training for cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength and endurance, speed and agility, balance and flexibility
  • Understand how the body's cardiovascular, respiratory and muscular system respond, adjust, and adapt to the stress of physical activity
  • Understand the trainings in heat and for special population
  • Apply various teaching techniques and strategies to enhance exercise instruction in the group fitness setting and create memorable, inclusive movement experiences
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills
  • Exercises for cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength & endurance, speed & agility, balance & flexibility

Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Certification (accredited by Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council - SRFAC)

If you do not have this certification, we may arrange for the class. We conduct this course once every two weeks.

Physical Fitness Instructor for High-Intensity-Interval-Training, Boot Camp, Circuit Training.
